FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Quick answers on RevPoints, Flying Blue miles, plan tiers, and how this calculator works.

What are RevPoints, in one sentence?

RevPoints is Revolut's loyalty programme — you earn points for spending on an eligible debit or credit card and for booking hotels through Revolut Stays, and you can redeem them inside the Revolut app, including transferring them to Flying Blue airline miles at a fixed 1:1 ratio (Revolut's RevPoints terms).

How exactly do RevPoints convert to Flying Blue miles?

At a confirmed 1:1 ratio: 1 RevPoint becomes 1 Flying Blue mile, with no bonus tiers or sliding scale. This is stated on both Flying Blue's official Revolut partner page and Revolut's Airline Miles FAQ. There is no cap on how many points you can transfer, but Flying Blue may set its own minimum transfer amount.

Which Revolut plans actually earn RevPoints?

Premium, Metal, and Ultra earn RevPoints on card spending. Standard and Plus do not earn RevPoints at all, regardless of how much you spend on either. This is confirmed on Revolut's official RevPoints rates page.

I am on Plus and paying a monthly fee. Why am I not earning any points?

Because Plus does not earn RevPoints, full stop. It is a common point of confusion since Plus is a paid tier, but Revolut only turns on RevPoints earning from Premium upward. If points are your main reason for paying, you would need to move to Premium or higher, or consider whether Plus's other features are worth the fee on their own.

What is a RevPoint actually worth in real money?

It depends entirely on how you redeem it. Flying Blue's dynamic pricing means the same mile can be worth anywhere from under 1 cent to over 2 cents depending on the route and redemption. This site defaults to a 2.1 US cent "balanced" estimate, averaging The Points Guy's published valuation with One Mile at a Time's valuation guide, but you can adjust it, or use the calculator's "I know my redemption" mode to calculate the exact value for a specific flight you are considering.

Is Revolut Ultra worth it just for the RevPoints?

Usually not on RevPoints alone. Ultra carries the highest monthly fee of any Revolut plan by a wide margin, and even its top published earn rate needs a large, consistent monthly spend to generate enough miles to clear that fee. Ultra tends to make more sense for people who will also genuinely use several of its bundled partner perks (see below) or who value its other features like elevated FX limits and travel insurance.

Do the free partner subscriptions (NordVPN, Tinder, ClassPass, etc.) count toward my RevPoints?

No, they are a completely separate benefit from RevPoints. Metal, Premium, and Ultra bundle free or discounted access to a rotating list of partner apps as a plan perk, independent of the points programme. Revolut is explicit that this roster "may vary from time to time" and differs by market (Revolut's plan partnerships help page), so always check your own app rather than assuming a fixed list.

Should I count the full retail price of every bundled perk when working out if my plan is worth it?

No — only count the perks you would genuinely have paid for on your own. A free VPN subscription adds zero real value to you if you were never going to buy a VPN anyway. The calculator's perk picker is built around this: tick only what you would actually use, and it adds just that amount to your verdict.

Can I redeem RevPoints for anything other than Flying Blue miles?

Yes. RevPoints can be redeemed for other rewards inside the Revolut app depending on your region and current offers, not just airline miles. This site focuses specifically on the Flying Blue transfer because it has a clear, confirmed 1:1 ratio that makes an apples to apples value calculation possible; other redemption options may be worth more or less depending on what they are.

Do RevPoints expire?

Yes. Revolut's official terms state that RevPoints are valid for three years after you receive them, after which they permanently expire and can no longer be redeemed (Revolut RevPoints Terms). You can check individual expiry dates for your points balance inside the Revolut app.

What happens to my RevPoints if I close my Revolut account?

Your RevPoints balance is forfeited if you close your payment account, per Revolut's official terms. If you are planning to close an account, it is worth redeeming or transferring any meaningful RevPoints balance first.

Is this calculator accurate for my country?

The underlying earn rates and plan fees shown come from one of Revolut's officially published regional rates pages, converted to your chosen display currency using live exchange rates. That conversion makes the maths comparable across currencies, but it does not reproduce your own country's actual Revolut pricing or earn rates, which vary by market. Treat the result as a directional estimate rather than your exact local numbers, and check your own Revolut app for your market's real plan fees and rates.

Why does the price in my Revolut app not match what this site shows?

A few reasons: Revolut adjusts plan fees and earn rates over time and by region, this site converts one region's published pricing into your chosen currency at today's exchange rate rather than showing your local native price, and Revolut sometimes runs temporary promotions or region specific pricing that a general calculator cannot reflect. Where a plan's native price in your selected currency is available, the calculator shows a note with that figure alongside the converted estimate.

What if I have both a debit and a credit card on the same plan?

Enter your monthly spend for each separately in the calculator — debit and credit often earn at different rates on the same plan, so combining them into one number would understate or overstate your real points. Leave the credit field at zero if you do not have a Revolut credit card.

What is the difference between "Quick estimate" and "I know my redemption" mode?

Quick estimate lets you pick or type a flat value per mile (like the 2.1 cent default) based on published industry averages, which is useful when you are not sure yet how you will redeem. "I know my redemption" instead asks for a specific flight's cash price, taxes and fees, and miles required, then calculates the exact value per mile for that one booking — more precise for a flight you are actually planning, but specific to that route and date given Flying Blue's dynamic pricing.

The numbers say my plan is not worth it for RevPoints. Should I downgrade?

That depends on why you are actually paying for the plan. RevPoints value is only one input. If your plan's FX limits, ATM allowances, insurance, or savings rates matter more to you day to day than points do, a negative RevPoints verdict does not necessarily mean the plan is a bad deal overall — it just means points are not the part carrying the cost. If points were your main reason for the higher tier, a negative verdict is a reasonable signal to reconsider.

Is Revolut safe and regulated?

Regulation varies by where you hold your account. In the EEA, Revolut Bank UAB holds a full banking licence from the Bank of Lithuania, passported across the EU. In the UK, Revolut received a full banking licence from the PRA in March 2026. In Australia, Revolut operates under an Australian Financial Services Licence rather than a full banking licence, and deposits are not covered by a government deposit guarantee the way they are in the EEA or UK (licensing overview, Mappr). Always check Revolut's own legal pages for your specific country's current status.

How often are the exchange rates on this site updated?

Live, where possible, using exchangerate-api.com. If a live rate cannot be reached, the calculator falls back to a set of official central bank reference rates captured around late July 2026, which will drift from the real rate over time until a live connection is available again.

Who runs this site, and is it official?

This is an independent calculator, not an official Revolut, Flying Blue, Air France, or KLM product, and it is not affiliated with or endorsed by any of them. See the About page for more on how the numbers are sourced and kept up to date, and the affiliate disclosure for how the site is funded.
